JERUSALEM AS EMMANATION

Albion too has an emanation; her name is Jerusalem. Although she too becomes involved in the fall she remains the aspect of man through which he perceives the Divine Vision. In turning away from the Vision Albion turns away from Jerusalem

William Blake's Circle of Destiny, by Milton O Percival gives this insight into Jerusalem:
"A sharer in Albions fortunes is Jerusalem, the feminine half of the mystical union of contraries which is Albion. Upon her rests the ineffable grace and glory that distinguish others of her line - the kabbalistic Shekinah, the Gnostic Sophia, Dante's Blessed Virgin, the Celestial Virgin of Boehme. She is like Albion, an inclusive figure, the personification of his spiritual well-being, the result of the harmonious functioning of all his powers. She is designated as the sum of Albion's Emanations, the mother of his little ones, the aggregate of the Daughters of Inspiration, a tent and tabernacle of mutual forgiveness. She exists because in Eternity error is forgiven, nothing condemned. Among the children of Albion her name is "Liberty" - the liberty of regenerated souls."

In the generated world Jerusalem becomes the spark within the web of life. She like Los and Enitharmon devotes herself to the task of bringing life back to Albion. Jerusalem is both the holder of the vision and the vision which is held.

Jerusalem is also said to be the bride and wife of the Lamb. (E 165)

What is Above is Within, for every-thing in Eternity is translucent:
The Circumference is Within: Without, is formed the Selfish Center
And the Circumference still expands going forward to Eternity.
And the Center has Eternal States! these States we now explore."
