Milton 5

Rosenwald LoC
Milton 18

Text
At the top of this image is a representation of Heaven;
The central figure is the Bard with harp,
surrounded by four or five dancing musicians.

We all have a selfhood that takes the place for us of God.
Blake sometimes refers to him as Urizen.

Milton stands before the false God
with a purpose to annihilate it.
He has 'shorn' hair like an earlier
hero called Samson.
You may recall that Samson pulled down
the columns of the Palace of the Philistine‎s.
Here Milton pulls down
the same edifice.
